BOG Collaborates with COTCO

BOG continues to support companies operating in the oil & gas industry within and outside Nigeria. This time, BOG representatives visited the Cameroon Oil Transportation Company (COTCO) offshore site with a view to changing their existing steel lines to composite pipes.

The purpose of this site visit was to properly understand the scope of work of the upcoming change out of 10-inch and 12-inch mild steel lines on COTCO’s Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) Kome-Kribi-1 platform, located offshore Cameroon. The platform currently has corrosion issues with BOG coming in to replace the corroded lines using composite pipes.

COTCO owns and operates crude oil and natural gas pipelines. The company was founded in 1997 and is based in Douala, Cameroon. It is a major player in the oil & gas industry in Cameroon.

This project is very critical to COTCO as it will not only help resolve corrosion issues, but also restore the FSO to optimal functional capacity. Yet again, it is another pointer to the advantages that composite pipes have over carbon steel and a further demonstration of BOG’s resolve to take oilfield services to new heights.
